We all go through life hiding our imperfections, struggles, and brokenness.
Life can be harsh, with no room for vulnerability.
There is also suffering that comes from hiding your real self.
I welcome you to join me as we uncover who you truly are, explore your fears and pain, and help you live a life of inner calm and contentment.
Many times we smile to hide our sadness and confusion. It's a convenient mask to wear.
When we hide our sadness and try sharing our feelings, the responses are something like:
👉“Why are you so negative? You’re making things awkward.”
👉”Get over it.”
👉“It’s not so bad. Think of the horrible things happening to others around the world.”
👉“Let me try to fix your sadness for you.”
Many people become very uncomfortable with hard emotions.
You are feeling happy, grateful, hopeful and confident- Very good! Keep sharing!
But if you’re feeling angry, sad, confused, discouraged or pessimistic?- Very bad! Stop sharing! Change your emotions!
So we end up learning, quite quickly, what feelings we can show to the world and what feelings we are not allowed to share.
But let me let you in on a secret.
Just because we hide certain emotions, doesn’t make them go away.
They just grow larger and larger.
And not only are we left alone with our grief, but we also are made to feel shame and guilt about our humanness.
That is why in my 15+ years of working as a therapist, I have made it my goal to cultivate openness and acceptance.
🌿A sincere and judgment-free zone where I connect with individuals wholeheartedly.
🌿A place where we can dig deep within and face our deepest pain
🌿A place where honesty and truth are allowed and encouraged
🌿A place where you can be human and true to yourself
We all have brokenness to us.
I welcome you into a safe place where you can be your true self, brokenness and all.
"I’ve always wondered, how can someone tell all of their passions, secrets and problems to a complete stranger?!? David is so professional yet so human! I trust him completely. I had lost my laughter, David brought that back. I needed someone trustworthy, David is that someone. I don’t care if people think his therapy is non-traditional, it’s 2022 & times have changed. It works for me and it works for the friends that I’ve sent to him. Laughter is my therapy…and I laugh for an hour straight with my therapist. Some tears too, but he always seems to show me there is something positive to come out of my negative. He’s the best thing since sliced bread." -J.V.
